I grew up in the rolling hills of New England in Fairfield County Connecticut. As the son of a pilot, I traveled extensively through America and Europe, which began my fascination with art and culture described by the peoples of the world. This attraction eventually drew me to study at Rhode Island School of Design, focusing in Fine Art, Illustration and Photography. During this time, I studied with renowned photographer Henry Horenstein at the SPEOS school of photography in Paris, France, as well as in Providence, Rhode Island. My early beginnings as a staff photographer for both Providence Monthly and East Side Monthly publications lasted for two years, before venturing into the broader world.
After graduating with a BFA in 2000, wanderlust and exploring what the camera lens could capture led me to various and diverse corners of the United States, Canada and Mexico. Basing myself in Colorado for 11 years afforded me to work seasonally and spend every penny exploring the great American west. Along with various exhibitions and periodical features, I owned and was employed in several fine art galleries, working with artists of all degree. My life work and family adventures have continued in the mountains and high desert of northern New Mexico, where I have called my home for the last 8 years.
I now live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my family.
The latest southwest expedition was a great success, as I first headed south to Big Bend National Park. Its remoteness and grand expanse had so much to offer, it was hard to take it all in. On the return trip through New Mexico, there were a few days in White Sands, Alamogordo, and Bosque del Apache. So many hidden corners can captivate and inspire. The weather had much to say about the photography that was produced, and the winter wildlife at the Bosque was fantastic. Check out my instagram for some of those shots.
All of my work is printed on high grade aluminum with a scratch resistant clear coat. This process reflects with a vibrant luminosity that is durable and waterproof. Each piece is available for wood or metal framing, or on its own for you to frame as you wish.
